Getting to Know Our EVSC Summer Musical Alumni
A Commitment to Supporting the Arts
Where did you go to high school?
I went to North High School.
What is your favorite summer musical memory?
The feeling when we put the orchestra with the cast for the first time at the Sitzprobe each year.
This year we are doing The Wizard of Oz. Who is your favorite character? Are you Team Glinda or Team Wicked Witch?
The munchkins are my favorite characters and I am team Glinda!
I'm definitely NOT biased because I have current students participating as munchkins!
What skills did you learn while participating in the summer musical?
I am currently a music teacher and would not be in my current position if it weren't for summer musicals. The summer musical is what inspired me to go into music as a career.
What summer musical production(s) did you participate in?
I participated in four summer musical productions. I participated in Seussical, Footloose, Beauty and the Beast, and Fiddler on the Roof.
What roles did you have in those productions?
I played the clarinet for each musical as a part of the orchestra.
What advice would you give to your high school self?
Talk to people that you don't go to school with during the year! I made a lot of friends during the summer musical from other schools, but I was always nervous to talk to new people.
How has your community involvement impacted your life?
I know someone everywhere I go! It's nice to be able to recognize people everywhere after being involved in so much in the community. It's helped me in my career and personal life.
