Teacher Locker

The Teacher Locker is a place where EVSC teachers grades Pre-K-12 can receive FREE school supplies for their classroom at no cost to the teacher*.  Conceptualized by volunteers (many teachers or retired educators themselves), Teacher Locker was created with the goal to reduce the amount teachers spend out of their own pockets for their classrooms. We work with individuals, local partners, and other community organizations to generate funding and in-kind donations for EVSC classrooms.

We are located at the AIS Diamond Campus (access through entrance #29 on Wedeking Ave.) and follow the EVSC Calendar (closing for holidays and snow days).  We are open to EVSC Pre-K-12 teachers by appointment on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Special back to school shopping hours are scheduled each year and teachers are notified about available times via Connect.

*Please note this will not be a substitute for parents buying annual supplies as required by the EVSC or a location where parents receive free supplies for the year. If you would like to make a monetary donation or donate supplies, please contact our Teacher Locker Manager at 812-435-0996.

Professional Development

Professional learning opportunities are critical to support the work of educators throughout their entire careers. If we want to empower our students, we must first invest in and inspire our teachers.

In 2024-2025, we are launching initiatives to address this need. We will be partnering with community organizations to expand and extend learning opportunities in and out of the classroom through our Adopt-A-School program. We will also be  providing busy teachers with quick access links to inspiration and grant opportunities from community partners.

Professional development is important- from your first day as a teacher, to your last. We are here to support you as you engage and empower our students!
