A tour team from Missoula Children’s Theatre will arrive in Evansville this June with a set, lights, costumes, props, and makeupー everything needed to put on a play, except the cast!

Ever been abandoned in the jungle, adopted by wolves, taught by a bear, befriended by a panther and chased by a tiger? In the Missoula Children’s Theatre musical adaptation of THE JUNGLE BOOK, Mowgli the man-cub has all these adventures and more. Join him as he escapes from the Bander-log, outwits a tiger, enlists the help of a rock-python, explores what it means to be human and learns a lesson from the brave mongoose Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. Original music and rollicking humor give new life to the classic tale by Rudyard Kipling.
Thanks to the generosity of The Bower-Suhrheinrich Foundation, Children’s Theatre workshops and program is free for all participants.

Auditions
Be adventurous and come out for auditions!
This production is open to students who will be entering first grade in the fall of 2025 through students who completed eighth grade.
Approximately 50 local students will be cast to appear in the show with the Missoula Children's Theatre Tour Actor/Director. Up to four students will be cast as Assistant Directors. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play.
Students wishing to audition must arrive by the scheduled start time and stay for the entire two-hour session. Some cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition. This is a group audition and no advanced preparation is necessary.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals will be conducted every day during the week of residency, from June 16-21, 2025.
Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role and be available for all scheduled performances.
A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the conclusion of the audition.
Cast members scheduled for entire rehearsals will be asked to bring a sack lunch, dinner, or snack to be eaten during breaks.
