Harrison High School Alumni of 1998
Bryan Bishop, Owner and President of LawMan Security & Consulting and LawMan Tactical Guntry Club
Bryan’s advice for today’s juniors and seniors:
Slow down. Embrace these moments and enjoy them—you don’t get them back. Find a purpose, and make a plan to achieve it. You get what you earn.

Getting to Know Our EVSC Alumni

Success Earned Through Lifelong Learning
For Bryan Bishop, high school didn’t start off as the most exciting chapter of life. But everything changed during his junior and senior years at Harrison High School.
“It wasn’t until those last two years that I really found meaning in school,” Bryan shares. “That was because of teachers like Mr. McWilliams, Mr. Trustee, and Mrs. Dissler. They didn’t just teach—they connected. They believed in my potential, and that made all the difference.”
While some classes felt like a drag—keyboarding being at the bottom of the list—Bryan now laughs at how useful that typing class turned out to be. “I didn’t love it at the time, but I’m really thankful for it now. Typing has been a skill I’ve used in every job I’ve had… and I can type faster than my kids, which is my proudest keyboarding achievement,” he laughs.
After graduating in 1998, Bryan attended the University of Southern Indiana. He eventually took a job in New Jersey, working in the oil and gas industry, where he negotiated with farmers to allow drilling on their land. It was a unique experience, but Evansville was always home. When he returned, he joined the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office—a job that matched both his skills and his sense of purpose.
Today, Bryan is the business owner of Lawman Tactical and has also ventured into various real estate investments, continuing his commitment to building strong foundations—both in business and in the community.
Looking back, Bryan wishes he’d been more involved in school activities but is thankful for the relationships and growth he experienced late in his high school journey. One of his favorite memories? Simply the moments spent with teachers who saw something in him—moments that sparked a belief in himself.
Bryan’s involvement in the community—through his role in law enforcement, and business owner—has helped him grow both personally and professionally. He’s developed a deeper sense of empathy, leadership, and responsibility.
“Every day I’m reminded that what you give to your community, you often get back in unexpected and meaningful ways.”

A Commitment to Supporting Our Community

Finding ways to invest in and support the local community is more than just a habit for Bryan, it’s a lifestyle.
Bryan- who spent his four years of high school playing football- thought that he might be able to help others learn the sport. “I coached Harrison youth football for years with Dave (Cosby). We helped develop the Harrison Youth Program when Lakeview closed.”
Bryan currently continues his commitment to supporting students at Lawman Tactical where he coaches self defense and wrestling.
