Summer Musical
Since 1989, the Public Education Foundation has produced an area-wide high school summer musical production. A summer-school curriculum offering, these major musical theatre productions showcase the talents of area students while helping them develop their skills in a professional setting.
Technology Showcase
In partnership with Ivy Tech Community College, PEF has offered students and teachers the opportunity to exhibit their talents in technology while giving the community the opportunity to see technological advances in the classroom.
Children’s Theatre
Students from kindergarten to eighth grade participate in a week-long summer theatre camp aimed to promote teamwork, develop courage, and foster a love of the theatre. At the end of the week, students put on a performance of an adaptation of a classic children’s fable.
Teacher Grants
Annually, PEF provides numerous grant opportunities for teachers to enhance classroom enrichment, promote professional development and encourage cross curriculum collaboration. A strong partnership with the Rotary Club of Evansville helps to increase the pool of funds available for teachers.
Academic Super Bowl
Teams of students from all 15 Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation (EVSC) middle and high schools annually compete in the areas of fine arts, math, language arts, science, and social studies at the city, regional, and state level. PEF helps to foster academic excellence by providing financial support to this EVSC program.
Middle School Speech
Each fall, middle school students from EVSC schools compete in various areas of speech, including poetry, prose, interpretation, original oratory, and duo interpretation unscripted. PEF helps to build student confidence by providing financial support to this EVSC program.
Scholarships
The Public Education Foundation manages and awards nearly 20 scholarships annually to seniors. This serves the mission of the Public Education Foundation which is that students will be educated, engaged and ready to face the challenges of the world.
