Vanderburgh County Health Officer, Dr. Ken Spear, recommended the closing of schools next week, March 16 through March 20. Local government officials were in full agreement of this recommendation announced yesterday during a city press conference.

As a result, EVSC will be closing all school facilities today at 5:00 p.m. EVSC Foundation, Hangers, and Teacher Locker will also close at 5:00 p.m. today following EVSC’s direction. At this time, facility closure will continue through spring break with plans to reopen on Monday, March 30.

We are always appreciative of charitable gifts and hope you continue financial giving through our secure website here or by mail, however, please hold tangible donations like clothing or school supplies until Hangers and Teacher Locker reopen.

We appreciate EVSC’s leadership as they work with local and state health offices to determine the best plan of action for our school community. As always, your charitable giving, volunteerism, and support of EVSC students and families is of the utmost importance to us, and we look forward to working with you again once our normal school schedule resumes.
