The EVSC Foundation and Public Education Foundation (PEF) are coming together to use our collective expertise and resources to have a more profound impact on public education in Evansville. The EVSC Foundation and Public Education Foundation of Evansville have served EVSC, students, educators, families, donors, and the public education community for 36 years. The collective board of directors recognizes the value of the organizations’ combined expertise, resources, and complementary capabilities. Bringing together the two foundations will enable us to do and be more effective for our constituents and the community.

The newly merged organization will combine both organizations’ key programs and initiatives into one unified effort and adopt the EVSC Foundation name and branding. We believe that the focus of one larger organization aligned to support public education in our community will provide new and enhanced opportunities for our students and educators in the years to come.

Together, we’re focused on the mission.

For years, the EVSC Foundation and Public Education Foundation have worked in tandem to cultivate innovative programming for educators and students and develop community partnerships that further their mission to enhance education. We are already working together as one organization on common goals that will have a more profound impact on public education in Evansville. The EVSC Foundation and PEF boards have also joined forces and continue to serve together so that no shared expertise will be lost.

We will honor the legacy of each organization.

Both foundations have served EVSC, students, educators, families, donors, and the public education community for years, and look forward to pursuing this mission together moving forward. PEF has been a public education pillar in Evansville for over 36 years and a leader in student-centered programs like the Summer Musical, House Project, and Technology Showcase, as well as educator grants. The EVSC Foundation was established in 2008 to support Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation students and educators. It has grown to fund a variety of initiatives like educator innovation grants, whole child student development programs, school assistance funds, and Hangers, a clothing resource for EVSC students.

We will build on those legacies by creating a new inclusive brand that is a catalyst between community and public education. This is a coming together of two outstanding organizations committed to helping students reach their fullest potential, supporting educators, and strengthening our schools.

We will preserve our most impactful programs.

The EVSC Foundation and Public Education Foundation have supported countless services and programs that benefit our students and educators throughout the years. The Public Education Foundation has offered development opportunities to students through flagship programs like the Summer Musical and Technology Showcase. Likewise, the EVSC Foundation has supported students by funding whole child development programs like GAIN and Hangers, a clothing resource for students, as well as grants for educators. We are happy to say that these programs will continue and that the new entity stands to potentially expand services beyond what was previously offered.

We aim to improve current grants for educators.

Bringing together the EVSC Foundation and Public Education Foundation will streamline the grant application process for educators. In the past, educators had to apply for funding from two different organizations. Now, we will have a unified grant program. We will do everything we can to ensure educators have the same opportunities available going forward.

We look forward to maintaining our donor relationships.

The support of our generous donors throughout the years allowed both foundations to make a significant impact on education in Evansville. We look forward to carrying our existing donor relationships into 2022 and beyond. If you contribute to a specific program or designate donations toward a particular grant or scholarship, we will continue to honor these requests as we have in the past.
